We’re meticulous about being on top of validity and mandatory refresher training because IATF audits are really strict about this stuff. This used to be impossible using spreadsheets.

We knew months in advance when we were going to be audited and had to get everything ready by this date. The auditor looked at what we were doing in our spreadsheets and said, ‘What you’re doing here is highly laborious, and I don’t think you’re going to be able to keep this up for much longer.’ I knew for sure that it’d be a huge mess if he were to show up unannounced.

What is the situation like now?

I’m currently fine-tuning AG5 for my personal requirements, and I already know that it’s going to take me far less time.

We’re only using the functionality we actually need – no fancy gimmicks or anything. AG5 offers me everything I need, but also more than we could ever have hoped for.

How does this affect your role within the company?

With AG5, I know I now have a clearer picture of everything and everyone! I can’t begin to tell you the peace of mind this gives me, as our training coordinator. Things are under control now, and that was far from being the case before we had AG5.

We really didn’t have a clue what was going on because every department was doing its own thing in a separate Excel spreadsheet. Now everything’s in one place – wonderful! What’s more, we now have a tool that’s motivating our staff to continue learning.

How does it work on a day-to-day basis?

Scheduling all our training courses is a lot faster now, too. I now know, ’Yikes! We need to be on the lookout for that. Alert! I don’t even want to think about the consequences if someone’s permit were to expire and be involved in an accident. You’d save weeks simply in terms of the insurance headache that would follow.

Trained, qualified operators are worth their weight in gold. And as far as I’m concerned, operators can never be too highly trained or qualified. Training operators may cost the company a lot of money, but they make fewer mistakes and, in turn, there’s less waste and fewer customer complaints.

I’m not doing my job properly if scrap and waste levels are too high. So, if training can reduce or eliminate scrap and waste, then I’ve helped the company enormously.

Have you noticed any other benefits?

What’s really great about AG5 is their service. If I send an email, I can generally expect a response in no time at all. There was this one time that I’d gotten myself in a real mess, and they solved it right there and then. With service like that, I can truly say everything’s perfect! And that’s as important as the software itself.
